Services

As an NGO, our mission is to reach out and empower the entire youth in Nigeria. This we plan to do systematically and progressively. It is on this premise of empowering the youth that we came up with a campaign for our training program tagged, “Youth Unleashed”, to help the youth unleash and maximize their potential.

Our service is focused on empowering the youth on four key areas as outlined below:

1.    Entrepreneurship Development:Over 70% of the Nigerian population are young people. This figure also includes the number of unemployed graduates. Nigeria’s spiraling youth unemployment has been a significant contributor to the dramatic rise in social unrest and crime. If young people are provided with self-employment opportunities through entrepreneurial skills acquisitions and trainings, they can become productive citizens and great assets in our nation building. At YWAV the youth are trained and empowered with the following course:

  • Starting & Managing your Own Business
  • Principles of Wealth Creation
  • Investment Opportunities for students
  • Turning your Talents into Riches
  • Management Guide For Young Business Owners
  • From Employee to Self-Employed

2.    Leadership Development: The greatest tragedy that has befallen Africa, and Nigeria in particular, has been a leadership vacuum as we can see today. Like the saying goes, "everything rises and falls on leadership." If our youth are the leaders of tomorrow, they should start leading today. The leadership begins NOW. It begins with self-leadership, the ability of young people to start leading themselves by taking personal responsibilities. This we hope to achieve through this empowerment program.

3.     Career Development: Many young people today do not know their areas of strength, and worse still, they struggle to make the right career path that is best suited for them. Choosing the right career is one of the most important decisions of life as the rest of one's life (whether success or failure) will be shaped by that singular choice. There are hundreds of career options out there. How do you make a career choice when you don't really know what you want to do? Through this empowerment workshop, they will be guided on how to gain insight to making the right choices in their careers. See below, some of the topics:

4.     Mentoring: Many youth have no hope for tomorrow because they lack purpose. Even those in the right career path still lack confidence in themselves. They are ready to give up their destiny for something lesser. That is why an undergraduate youth pursuing medicine can give-up his career and want to travel oversea simply because life is tough in Africa. There is a saying that where purpose is not known, abuse is inevitable. At YWAV mentoring program, the youth are exposed to leaders with years of experience that can counsel and mentor them in various areas as outlined below:
